Piano Class
Musikgarten's
Music Makers at the
Keyboard (KB)
A two-year total musicianship program
Ages 6 to 9 years for Young Musician Graduates
Ages 7 to 10 years for newcomers to Musikgarten
Adult Program, see below 55 minutes (parent-participation on certain days)
taught in groups of 4 - 6 students
Students literally run into their piano class, excited to show teacher and classmates
the songs they discovered how to play by their own musical ears! Having
completed
Young Musician Year Two, they will continue to develop their musicianship, as the
songs
that have become dear to them over the years are easily transferred to the piano/keyboard.
Older newcomers will discover how natural it is to play what they can sing.
Games, singing,
and movement are a part of every lesson. The "group" experience capitalizes on
children's
delight in making music with others, and greatly enhances the skills of rhythmic competency,
listening, and music-reading.
Some children (with small hands, or for some other reason)
benefit from doing Year One twice.
Required home equipment: Good acoustic or digital piano, and a CD player
near the piano,
easy for the student to operate
